What the Daily Tracker stores, and where

When you tap a tile in the Daily Tracker, the entry is written to your browser's local storage under a single key (roo-bloom.tracker.v1). That covers the medicines you add, the times you record, meltdown entries and which trackers you have switched on.

• Stored only in the browser. There is no server-side database and no API call. The pages that show your entries are static files; the entries themselves never leave the device.
• No account. There is no sign-up, email address, password or profile, so nothing you record is linked to an identity.
• Not shared with analytics. Nothing you record in the tracker is sent to Google Analytics or anywhere else. The analytics described below can never receive a tracker entry — see the section on it.
• Deleted by you. Undoing an entry removes it immediately. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything the tracker holds. Nothing expires on its own, and nothing is kept elsewhere once you clear it.

What that means in practice

Because the data lives in one browser, the tracker does not follow you to another device or another browser, and it cannot be recovered by Roo Bloom if you clear it. That is the trade for having no account and sending nothing anywhere.

Downloading and reading resources

The resource packs are static files. Reading one online or downloading the PDF does not require an email address and does not create a record against you. As with any website, the server hosting these files may keep ordinary request logs.

The Situation Coach and AI providers

The Situation Coach is the only part of Roo Bloom that sends anything you type to another company. What you write in the box — your description of what upset your child — is sent to an AI provider, which writes the story, and is used for nothing else.

Roo Bloom uses OpenAI for this. If OpenAI cannot answer — a timeout, an outage, or a result that fails our own content checks — the same description is sent to Anthropic instead. One of the two receives it, not both, and most of the time it is OpenAI.

We do not store your description, log it, or attach it to anything. There is no account and no history. Your child's first name, if you have given one, is never sent to either provider — it is applied in your browser after the story comes back. The most recent story is saved on your device so you can open it again, with a Remove it button beside it; your description is not saved, even there.

If you press Save for practice at the end of a story, that story is kept in this browser as well, so you can go through it again another day. It is a short list you choose — nothing is saved unless you press the button — every item has a Remove beside it on Things we're practising, and your original description is not part of what is kept. None of it is ever sent to Roo Bloom, to analytics or to either AI provider.

Both providers have their own terms and their own retention policies, which are theirs rather than ours. If you would rather no third party saw a description, the other resources are static files and send nothing anywhere.

If you give us an email address

One resource — the Haircut Pack — offers to email you the pack. It is optional: the "Skip" button next to it gives you exactly the same files, and every download on the site works without an address.

• What it is used for. Sending you that pack, and telling you when a new situation pack is ready. Nothing else.
• Where it goes. Straight to the mailing service Roo Bloom uses. There is no Roo Bloom database, so the address is not stored on this site and cannot be looked up here.
• Not sold, not shared. It is not passed to advertisers or anyone else, and there is an unsubscribe link on every email.
• Not linked to anything. The address is never sent to Google Analytics, never attached to a tracker entry, and never joined to anything else you do here. Analytics records only that a form was submitted.

Optional analytics

Roo Bloom uses Google Analytics, and only if you agree to it. Nothing loads until you choose Allow analytics on the banner. If you choose No thanks, no Google Analytics script is loaded and no analytics request is made at all.

When it is switched on, Google receives:

• Which public pages you visit, and the page titles and paths
• How you arrived — a search engine, a link, or a campaign tag on a shared link
• Device category, browser and approximate location, derived from your IP address
• Whether this is a return visit
• A small number of deliberate interactions: opening a resource, opening the Daily Tracker, and downloading a resource PDF

What analytics never receives: anything you record in the Daily Tracker. No medicine names, times, meltdown entries, routine details or settings are sent, and Roo Bloom has no field anywhere for a name, email address, date of birth or diagnosis. The interaction events carry only a fixed resource identifier such as toilet-routine-pack and which part of the page the click came from. Google Analytics is also not loaded at all on the tracker's setup, medicines and insights screens.

Advertising features, Google Signals, personalised advertising and Google Ads integration are switched off, and no advertising cookies are set. Google Analytics is not anonymous: it uses identifiers to recognise a returning browser, and Google processes that data under its own terms — see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Your choice is stored in this browser under roo_bloom_analytics_consent as just the answer and a version number — no identifier. It stays until you clear this site's data, or until the analytics policy materially changes, at which point you will be asked again. To change your mind at any time, use the Analytics preferences link in the footer.

Children's information

Some resources offer to be personalised. That means a first name, a boy or girl character for the illustrations, and — on the Haircut Pack — what your child does afterwards. All of it is optional, and every resource is written to read properly without it.

• It stays in this browser. Saved under one key (roo_bloom_child_name) and never sent to a server. Roo Bloom has no copy of it and no way to obtain one.
• It never reaches analytics. Analytics may record that a resource was personalised. It never records the name, the character, the activity, or anything your child picked in a resource.
• It never reaches the page address. Nothing you type is put in a URL, a link you could share, the page title, or the version of the page a search engine sees.
• You can remove it. "Use the generic version" on the resource clears it, and clearing this site's data removes it entirely.

Nothing else about a child is asked for anywhere: no surname, date of birth, school, diagnosis or notes on behaviour. The tracker deliberately has no free-text notes field, so there is no place for personal detail to accumulate.

If this changes

If Roo Bloom later adds accounts, sync or analytics, this page will be updated to say so before that change is released. It describes what the site does today, not what it might do later.
