Counts come from this browser only. They describe what was read here, not how any child reads.

How it works

• Your child reads a short story, then does one activity with it — about two to four minutes.
• “Surprise me” picks the activity. Pick one yourself any time.
• A tap that isn’t the answer gets “Almost” and a pointer back to the story. Nothing is marked wrong.
• “Help me read” lets them tap a word to see it bigger. Hearts mark tricky words, learnt by heart.
• Short answers can be said aloud to you instead of typed. Spelling doesn’t matter.

The levels

1. Level 1 — Short words. Three-sound words with a short vowel (CVC): cat, bed, pig, dog, sun.
2. Level 2 — Two letters, one sound. Digraphs — two letters making one sound: sh, ch, th, ck, ng.
3. Level 3 — Blends. Consonant blends at the start and end of words: st, sp, tr, gr, nd, mp.
4. Level 4 — Magic e. Long vowels made with a split digraph: a_e, i_e, o_e, u_e.
5. Level 5 — Vowel teams. Two vowels working together: ai, ay, ee, ea, oa, ow.
6. Level 6 — More sounds. R-controlled vowels and more vowel teams: ar, or, er, ir, ur, oo, ou, oi, oy.

Choose a level from “Stories” on the start screen. Moving up or down is fine — there are no gates.

Print a story

Six black-and-white A4 sheets per story — one for each activity — plus answers for you.

What is saved

Only in this browser: which stories were finished, which activities were used, and how often questions were answered first time. Never what your child typed or drew. Nothing is uploaded.
